Serving meals
First United Methodist Church Members prepare and serve meals for those at Central Iowa Shelter on the first Thursday of the month and for those at The Connection Cafe on the fourth Monday of the month.

Creative Center for Young Children
Des Moines’ only fine arts focused preschool and child care center – located in the historic downtown First United Methodist Church. We’ll introduce your child to artists – including visual artists, poets, musicians, and dancers – at an age appropriate level, allowing him/her to experience and experiment with a variety of art genres.We approach every day with imagination, innovation, and most of all, fun!

Mats for the Homeless
Church Members are making mats for the homeless population in Des Moines. To make 1 mat it takes 500 plastic grocery bags. If you have extra bags, please bring them to the church.
