My name is Amanda Claussen, Director of Creative Center for Young Children.  I began working at First United Methodist Church as Assistant Director in January 2016 and moved into the Director roll in October 2022.  I obtained my Bachelor of Sciences degree in Early Childhood Education from Iowa State University in 2005 and have worked in the child care field since 2007.  I have a deep passion for serving the children and families of CCYC daily!  It brings me so much joy to see the amazing growth the children have while in our care.  CCYC’s unique emphasis on the fine arts sets us apart frm any other center that i have worked at.  I love seeing the creative side of tghe childen come out as we learn about different forms of the fine arts.  Outside of work, I love making homemade pasta, crocheting, watching basketball, and spending time with my family.
