Music Under the Dome
Celtic Music Service Sunday, November 13. On this day the 10:30 am worship service will feature moving and exhilarating Celtic music and prayers. Tim Britton is widely acknowledged as one of the nation’s top players of the Uillean pipes, or Irish pipes, a kinder, sweeter bagpipe than their Scottish cousin, the Highland pipes, which he will also play. A renowned multi-instrumentalist, Tim also plays mandolin, penny whistle, guitar, flute, and the Irish drum called the bodhran (pronounced BOH-run). He will be joined by Clear Joy, a duo also capable of playing half a dozen instruments between them, including viola and cello. Sisters Elaina Steenson and Anna Steenson have devoted much of their musical formation to mastering the Irish tradition. Tim, Elaina and Anna will be joined by The House Wide Open Band and The Choir in leading this inspirational service of devotion and praising God in the Celtic tradition!
